More Details

A full list of activities on offer can be found on the map.

With over 50 activities on offer, there is a wide selection of activities for all age ranges. Some activities are more appropriate to younger/older participants like archery and soft archery, but there’s something for everyone!

Activities on offer are subject to change, subject to the number of participants attending the event, and events beyond our control. All changes will be updated on the map and programme.

We ask groups who are only visiting for the day not to bring gazebos or shelters, due to limited space on site. There is plenty of shelter available inside our buildings and marquees, including the Avon field, Trym field, and training centre.

Yes, there’s a shop on site by the main entrance. We recommend young people bring £10 to spend in the shop. The shop has a varied selection of:

  • Toys & Games
  • Badges & Woggles
  • Woodhouse Park Memorabilia
  • Hot & Cold Drinks
  • Hot Pastries
  • Ice Creams
  • Snacks & Sweets

See the event map for the location of all our site maps. Please use the main reception carpark if you may need to leave the site during the event.

Please note there is another event on the Saturday, so groups camping overnight will not be able to drive onsite until around 4:30-5pm.

Event tickets are non-refundable, meaning the number of tickets cannot be reduced once booked. We recommend booking the minimum number of tickets you expect to need, and add more at a later date if needed.

Rangers and explorers can take part in the event as a participant but must not be involved in supervising other young people at any point during the event, in line with our safeguarding policy. Any rangers or explorer who are going to be supervising young people must attend as an adult, which may impact their ability to take part in a small number of activities.

Leader’s children are welcome to come to the event but must have a participant ticket unless they are under four years old.

Risk assessments for the site, and instructed activities are provided here, along with all guidance for our self-led activities. Please note we do not provide risk assessments for self-led activities.

Wherever possible we ask groups to take their waste home, however we do have waste disposal points on site, which are shown on the map. If using our waste disposal, please separate waste into bags of:

  • Paper & Card
  • Plastic
  • Metal & Glass
  • Food
  • General Waste

Please do not put any cannisters or batteries into our waste – please dispose of these at an appropriate waste recycling centre.

Woodhouse Park is a scout centre owned and managed by Avon Scouts, we follow the Scout’s safeguarding guidance and yellow card. Every leader attending the event is given a copy of the yellow card.

Leaders attending the event must follow the rules of their organisation, which usually includes the requirement for a DBS check and/or training.

All leaders and participants at the event will be asked to wear an event wristband throughout the event. This may be asked to show this at any point during the event.

Groups should do a risk assessment, which should include the required number of leaders based on age of the group, ratios, additional needs, and any other relevant information.

Please note that whilst Woodhouse Park staff and volunteers will run instructed activities, we rely on groups to provide enough leaders to allow one or two to supervise a self-led activity.

Volunteer Staff

This event would not be possible without our amazing team of volunteer staff. There will be a wide range or roles available, from running activities, or the shop, traffic management, site services, staff catering, or even taking photos and videos and updating our social media. If you would like to help for the weekend (or just part of it) please book in and let us know if you would like to do a specific role. Feel free to contact us if you have questions about anything.
