Wansdyke Scouts – Big Fiesta (7th – 9th June 2024)

| Cost | £40 per young person, plus any additional charge by groups to cover catering, transport, etc. £20 per adult, plus any additional charge by groups to cover catering, transport, etc. Many groups may charge young people a higher rate to cover the costs of their leaders. |
| Bookings | Please nominate a group/unit leader to make one booking for all participants. Participant bookings should be managed by each group (e.g. by OSM). Individual participants may not book themselves, and should speak to their section/unit leader. |
| Day Visits | There is currently no day visit option – this situation is being monitored and may change subject to at a later date. |
| Activities | Over 60 activities provided by Woodhouse Park will be on offer, including a number of exciting new activities. |
| Shop | The site shop will be open throughout the weekend, selling a variety of badges, clothing, hot & cold drinks, sweets & snacks, and more! Cash and card are accepted – we recommend young people bring around £10. |
| Health Forms | The online booking portal will collect health information – paper health forms will not be accepted and any helper or young person who is not on the system will not be able to take part in the event. |
| Shooting Forms | Any young person who would like to do rifle shooting, laser tag, or crossbow shooting will need to bring a signed paper copy of the rifle shooting permission form available here. Please note if this is lost, the young person will not be able to take part in either activity – digital copies or photographs are not accepted. |
| Arrivals | The centre will be open from 12 noon on Friday. Thursday day/evening set up will be available by prior arrangement with the centre team only. |

Directions to Woodhouse Park
Woodhouse Park, Fernhill, Almondsbury, BS32 4LX.
From the motorway, turn off the M5 at junction 16 and follow the signs for A38 (north). Follow the A38 north until you reach Fernhill, shortly after crossing the motorway bridge. Turn left onto Fernhill, and take the first right into Woodhouse Park near the top of the hill.
Please note we will be operating a one way system in the carpark during this event.
To prevent traffic jams on Fernhill towards the A38, please turn right when leaving the site, and then follow the red route if you are heading North, or the blue route if you are heading South.

Shooting Permission Form
Any young person who would like to do rifle shooting or laser tag will need to hand a signed paper copy of the rifle shooting permission form to the instructor, this is available here. Please note if this is lost, the young person will not be able to take part in either activity – digital copies or photographs are not accepted.
Filming and Photography
Please note that our media team will be taking photos, videos and audio recordings throughout the event, which may be used for social media and marketing purposes.
Book your own Fiesta
An exclusive event package for Scout and Guide Districts or large youth groups of between 500 and 1500 people
You get exclusive use of the whole Centre including lodges and camping areas and over 60 different activities for the weekend. We will provide both self-led and instructed (archery, tomahawks, rifles and roped) activities.
We provide space and the venue and all the equipment you need, along with operating procedures and large-scale event guidance. You provide the volunteer adults and anything else you wish to have to make your event extra special.
