Visit the Woodhouse Park shop! It may not seem like an activity, but visiting a shop teaches many skills to younger people.

The shop has an ever changing stock, which includes:

  • Sweets and snacks.
  • Cold drinks.
  • Pocket money toys.
  • Souvenirs.
  • New and old badges.
  • Clothing.
  • Ice lollies.
  • Freshly ground coffee and tea.

Many young people will never bought anything by themselves, worked out how much they can buy or counted out the correct money. A visit to the shop allows them to do all that without the pressure of a large shop.

Some of the skills the could be learnt:

  • Learning how much things cost, do you have enough money to buy everything you want?
  • Simple addition.
  • Waiting in a queue.
  • Values of coins.
  • Paying for something and getting change.

The shop will be open most of the time, but is subject to volunteer availability. If you would like the shop to be open at a specific time, let Reception know when you arrive.

The shop accepts cash and card payments.
