With the help of our NSRA qualified instructors you will learn about our air rifles, and how to load and shoot them safely. The instructor will provide you with tips, techniques and progression through games and perhaps a competition.

This activity is well suited to any group, whether you are a beginner or an expert! Rifle shooting is a fun activity, offering adventure, coordination and achievement to all. Please note this Activity is not suitable for persons under the age of 8.

Rifle Shooting Permission: To be allowed to take part in rifle shooting, this consent form must be completed and presented at the rifle range to your instructor.

Frequently Asked Questions

For your own safety:

  • wear comfortable clothing suitable for archery – preferably trousers or long shorts and no bare midriffs.
  • wear sensible footwear – trainers are ideal, no flip flops/crocs or open toed shoes
  • remove jewellery.
  • tie back long hair.

Dogs are welcome, where necessary, but must be kept on a lead at all times.

Any participants taking part in Rifle Shooting or Laser Tag must present a shooting permission form to the instructor at the start of the activity. This can be found on our documents page, or you can pick up spare paper copies at reception.

This is a legal document – any participant without a signed form will not be able to take part. Please note that the form cannot be signed by the group leader, or any party other than the appropriate parent/guardian.

Refreshments are available during your visit in reception.

Many of our ranged activities do not require any qualification or permit (e.g. Mini Crossbows, Soft Archery,etc.)

Instructors with a national governing body qualification, or relevant scout permit can run ranged activities at Woodhouse Park, following a safety induction from a member of our team.

Dependent upon the activity, relevant qualifications include:

  • NSRA – Youth Proficiency Scheme Tutor (Air Rifles) or Higher
  • Archery GB – Instructor or Coach
  • Scout Permit – Archery (Leadership) or Higher

Please note Woodhouse Park may allocate a member of staff to observe some or all of your session.

Our target activities go ahead whatever the weather, so please make sure your group has suitable clothing.

We do not provide storage for valuables or personal belongings, and recommend leaving them at home, or leaving them with a leader or friend who is not taking part in the activity.
