At Woodhouse Park Activity Centre all our instructors, both staff paid and volunteers, follow the centre policy’s regarding health and safety and hold official Scout Activity Permits, where necessary In addition, they hold or are working towards National Governing Body Qualifications (NGB’s). They all undertake regular observations and additional training, as well as keeping up to date with any changes implemented by Scout POR, or NGB’s. In addition we work closely with Girlguiding to ensure all activities are covered by their operating guidelines, where possible.

The Centre is not required to be registered with Adventure Activities Licensing Authority (AALA) as it does not offer any activities that fall under the registration scheme guidance.

If you are running self-led activities you are responsible for the safety of the group including completing your own risk assessment. You will find Self-Led Activity Guidance below, which will help you. Additional help on writing your own risk assessments can be found here.
